Rachel Emily Nichols

Rachel Emily Nichols was born in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Alison and James Nichols, a schoolteacher. She is of French Canadian, German and Irish descent. She completed her studies at Cony High School in Augusta, where she was a high jumper. Columbia University in New York City was where she earned a double degree in math and economics. After starting modeling and launching a lucrative career with high-profile companies such as Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch, and L'Oreal. Rachel made the transition to acting after being offered a part on the HBO comedy Sex and the City (1998). Her first film role was Jessica Matthews in Dumb and Dumberer: How Harry Met Lloyd (2003). She continued to make waves with roles in films such as The Amityville Horror (2006), The Inside (2005) and Alias (2001), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2008), Criminal Minds (2006) (a frequent role in the FBI Agent Ashley Seaver role) and Conan the Barbarian (2011). She played the role of the lead of a police officer Kiera Cameron in the science-fiction series Continuum (2012).Attended and graduated from Columbia University with a double major in economics and math. She was a model for Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch and L'Oreal. First role she auditioned for as the restaurant hostess in Sex and the City (1998). Her maternal grandfather was three quarters Italian and one quarter German and her maternal grandmother was of English, Scottish, and Northern Irish descent. Both Nichols as well as her Star Trek (2009) star Zoe Saldana, went on to work for Stephen Lang. Saldana was along with Lang in Avatar (2009); Nichols along with Lang in Conan the Barbarian (2011).
